New Jersey Police and Incident Reports
Incident reports document what officers observed and did at a scene. In New Jersey they are obtainable under OPRA from the responding department's records custodian, subject to investigation and privacy exemptions.
How to write the request
Identify the incident as precisely as you can: date, approximate time, street address or intersection, and the case or CAD number if you have one. A specific request is far less likely to be denied as overbroad.
